"Work from home. Teach 1 hour a day, earn $420-650 a month."
You are reading right.
I’m so excited and blessed to share this opportunity with you all. First, I have to admit that things got off to a really rough start, but I feel like the timing is finally right. I’m starting to get the hang of things and can confidently share more information.
What am I talking about?
I’m so glad you asked.
Have you been looking for an additional source of income that would provide flexibility? Maybe you’ve been wanting to be more present, and feel as though God is calling you to focus on your ministry in your home. Do you desire to stay home with your children? Have you and your spouse been functioning on one income and you need a second one to help make ends meet? Are you a homeschooling family in need of additional financial resources?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, this may just be the perfect opportunity for you.
I’m talking about the opportunity to pour into children from China, teaching them English.
If this sounds interesting to you, keep reading. If it doesn’t interest you, keep reading anyway because you may know someone else who could benefit from this opportunity.
VIPKID is the company providing this too good to be true opportunity to women (men) and families like mine and yours.
If you love the thought of teaching children and having fun, VIPKID may be just what you've been looking for.
With VIPKID, I get to work from home before my children wake up and/or after they go to bed. This means I don’t have to pay for childcare, I don’t have to compromise my time at home with my family, and I still have the rest of the day to help my husband with his business, homeschool, and take care of things around the house.
I choose my hours, and if I have something going on, I just don’t open up my schedule during that time.
Not only can I work from home, but I can travel and work wherever there is an internet connection.
Your probably thinking, that sounds great, but what’s the catch?
The only catch is that this opportunity isn’t for everyone. VIPKID is very selective with their hiring. The hiring process can seem tedious, and I believe this may be intentional. I think they make you do a little work on the front end, in order to increase ownership and sort through those applicants who may not truly be dedicated.

Now that you've read about some of the pros, what are the cons?
To be honest, there aren't too many.
The hiring process can be overwhelming. You think it will be something quick and simple, but there’s a lot of recording yourself teaching that goes on. Not to worry! If you are interested, I am here to help you.
Not everyone hits the ground running. For some, it takes a while before getting any bookings, while others get booked on their first day.
You learn as you go. I feel like I’m constantly learning new things. Many of which have been self-taught.
It seems to be seasonal. Some weeks/months appear to have higher booking rates than others. For example, there seems to be a decline in bookings in the month of February and the summer months. The first week of October is also a slow time.
It is independent contracting work. You're a contracted employee, so nothing is guaranteed. Parents have to choose to work with you. This will also affect the way you file taxes.
Those are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head.
Not too bad right?
Are you interested? Here are the qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any field
One school year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent hours in similar educational activities (e.g. homeschooling, tutoring, educational mentoring, etc.)
Eligibility to work in US or Canada.
A computer and headset.
A high-speed Internet connection.
I haven’t been teaching long, but now seems to be a peak season. If you are interested, they are really looking for great teachers. Give it a try and apply here.
I hope this opportunity blesses you and your family. If you have any additional questions, I would love to answer them and share some insight. Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
